Light is nothing without darkness.
Javeria Salar Khan works with fluorescent colour, darkness, geometric forms and pattern to depict the realities around her — and how humans perceive the all-encompassing, ever-present cosmos.
Her paintings glow against black backdrops the way stars do against the night: each needs the other to be seen at all.

“The billions of suns, moons, planets, galaxies and constellations with all their vibrance amount to nothing if there was no darkness in the universe.”
— Javeria Salar
